The Family Support Centre (FSC) is a place where families can go to receive help if they are experiencing difficulties with their child, parenting skills, or other family issues. The FSC assists in drafting Family Responsibility Agreements, Applications for Inquiry into Family Circumstances and Family Responsibility Orders. The Family Support Centre will manage Youth Community Correction Cases from September 2009 when the function will be transferred from the Department Of Justice.

Great, Recreation, Arts, Training and Sport (GREATS) is the youth in community (YiC) program that operates in Maningrida. The name “GREATS” comes from the youth committee and represents how the youth have great opportunities ahead of them. Who is “GREATS” for? “GREATS” youth services (GYS) is a community service for all Maningrida youth aged 10 to 25 years.
GYS offers a wide range of cultural focused activities and services including an after school care program for the youth of Maningrida. Diversion, prevention, education, inspiration and training is our mantra.
GYS works closely with all factions of the community including the school, shire council, Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation, night patrol, child safety, Maningrida Progress Association and the traditional owners to develop ongoing programs and activities for young people in the community.
GYS Youth Committee: GYS is a community controlled organization and as such, seeks input from all in Maningrida Community. A committee of management is made up of adult and youth representing a wide range of language groups within Maningrida. The youth committee is the body that makes all decisions about how the service will best operate to meet the needs of youth in Maningrida.Location: MANINGRIDA NT

Homework Club
Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory Inc

The Multicultural Council runs a Homework Club for young people from refugee and non-English speaking backgrounds in Malak on Thursday afternoons 4.00-6.00 during the school terms. The Homework Club is run by a group of enthusiastic volunteer tutors who provide support to young people of middle school and high school age with their schoolwork.
