National Youth Week Opening and Closing Celebrations Grant Round 2012
REMINDER: The Office of Youth Affairs has partnered with beyondblue: the national depression initiative, and is pleased to announce that a total of $7500 one off beyondblue funding is available for the National Youth Week (13 – 22 April, 2012) Opening or Closing Celebrations in the Darwin region. Applications close 16 February, 2012.
Australian Apprenticeships Mentoring Program
The Australian Apprenticeships Mentoring Program seeks to improve Australian Apprenticeship retention rates through the provision of approximately $80 million over four years to support targeted mentoring and assistance to Australian Apprentices. The Mentoring Program is targeted at industries and occupations with current or emerging skills need and Australian Apprentices who may face barriers to participation (e.g. Indigenous Apprentices or Apprentices in remote locations).
Remote Schools Pathways Grant 2012
Funding is available from the NT Department of Education and Training (DET) to help remote schools develop work experience and enterprise programs for students with a disability.
Back to School Payment Scheme 2012
The Back to School Payment Scheme has been established by the Northern Territory Government to help families offset the beginning of year expenses that come with providing the best education for students such as cost of textbooks, stationery, school uniforms, excursions, and travel costs associated with school such as the Student ID cards.
Grass Roots Development Grants - ROUND 2
The Grass Roots Development Grant – ROUND 2 is now open! Organisations (including clubs, groups, service deliverers, shire and municipal councils) can apply for up to $3 000 to implement a new sport or recreation program, or increase the capacity of their organisation to deliver sport or recreation services/programs. Applications close 30 January 2012.
Beyondblue National Priority Driven Research Program - ROUND 2
beyondblue is seeking applications for the beyondblue National Priority Driven Research (NPDR) program - ROUND 2. This national, competitive grant program aims to fund quality research in depression and anxiety in key priority areas: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and intersex people; men (aged 12–65 years). Grants of up to $300,000 per project are available. Projects must be two years’ duration or less. Closing date is 28 February 2012.
Linked up for Safe Kids Program
Applications for the Linked Up for Safe Kids program are now open. Linked Up for Safe Kids is designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and non-government services to build on initiatives that promote child and family safety and wellbeing, and whose services could benefit from some extra funds. Applications close Monday 6 February, 2012.
Coles Junior Landcare School Garden Grant
This program aims to get kids actively involved in their environment and enable them to develop sustainable habits from a young age by financially supporting schools and youth groups. Funding of up to $1,100 is available for various landcare activities such as bush tucker gardens, composting and green waste recycling, waterwise and carbon gardening amongst other eligible activities. This program has three rounds available annually. Closing date for the first round of applications is 17 February, 2012.
Indigenous Responsive Program (IRP) Funding
Do you need assistance with training Indigenous youth 17 years and older in communities? Indigenous Responsive Funding specifically targets Indigenous people, for delivery of accredited and non-accredited training that links to work ready or employment on site in Indigenous communities. Indigenous communities can access funding at any time throughout the year.
AYAC Youth Led Inclusion Project Grants 2012
Australian Youth Affairs Coalition (AYAC) is Australia’s non-governmental national youth affairs peak body for young people and the youth sector that supports them. As part of its core work, AYAC is committed to building capacity of young people party by championing and investing in youth led organisations. In 2012, AYAC invites youth led organisations to apply for one of six one-off grants of up to $2500 for projects, events, activities and programs that broaden their involvement of engaged young people. Applications close: 20 January 2012.
Youth Engagement Grants Program
The Office of Youth Affairs (OYA) administers the Youth Engagement Grants Program. The program aims to assist young Territorians to access a variety of youth-related events and personal development programs and activities. Young people are involved in the planning, staging and evaluating of activities that reflect their needs and interests.
Accelerated Australian Apprenticeships Funding
The Accelerated Australian Apprenticeships initiative, which was announced in the 2011-12 Budget, is open to receive on-going applications for funding. The Department is closed for the Christmas period of 23 December 2011 to 2 January 2012, inclusive. Please note that during this period applications may still be submitted, however, processing of applications will not be conducted during this period.
The Sidney Myer Fund and the Myer Foundation Education Grants
The Sidney Myer Fund and the Myer Foundation have small and large grants available to contribute to enabling Australians to achieve the best possible educational outcomes, irrespective of their cultural background, socio-economic status and place of residence.
Public Awareness Program
The Dept of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) provides the Public Awareness Program (PAP) funds initiatives that raise public awareness in the wider community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues and culture.
Regional Development Australia Fund (RDAF)
The Department of Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government Provides funding of $500,000 to $15,000,000 to support Australia’s regions and enhance their wellbeing and economic development. Applications close 15 February 2012.
RAAASS / PSSU Funding
RAAASS / PSSU funding is now available to fund AOD prevention and early intervention / diversionary activities during summer in Central Australia.
Matana Foundation for Young People Grant Program
Matana Foundation for Young People provides grants of $1,000 to $10,000 to organisations that share the Foundation’s common purpose and vision to assist disadvantaged young people to benefit from and contribute to the common good and provide a vehicle which nurtures self worth.
Transition to Independent Living Allowance (TILA)
The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations provides funding of up to $1,500 to assist some young people who are making the transition from formal and informal care to independent living.
Reconnecting People Assistance Package
The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs provides an assistance package to help Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents who have been adversely affected as a direct result of their inappropriate immigration detention under the Migration Act 1958 within Australia.
Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER)
The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations provides a subsidy for schools travelling more than 150 kilometres to visit the national capital as part of a civics and citizenship education excursion.
