Ten New Skilled Indigenous Youth Workers for the Roper Gulf Shire Region

Published on March 9th 2011 - Filed under: General Business

The Roper Gulf Shire region has ten new skilled Indigenous youth workers thanks to an innovative collaboration between the Roper Gulf Shire Council and the Council for Aboriginal Alcohol Program Services (CAAPS). The new youth workers will be based in the remote Aboriginal communities surrounding the town of Katherine and will be using their skills to mentor remote youth through employment and education pathways.

The youth workers successfully completed their traineeships and were presented with their certificates last week by the NT Administrator Tom Pauling and Council for Aboriginal Alcohol Program Services CEO Matthew Bonson.
