The Accidental Counsellor Workshop

Published on January 31st 2012 - Filed under: Professional Development

Accidental counsellors are people who may not have formal qualification or counselling experience but find they are placed in a counselling role by accident. Drawing on Lifeline’s vast experience in crisis counselling, this two day workshop aims to provide non-counsellors with a range of skills to work effectively with people who may be distressed, agitated or in crisis. With a heavy emphasis on enhancing communication skills, the course gives participants a practical framework for managing these issues.

Cost:

$350 (including GST) for volunteers and not-for-profit organisations

$425 (including GST) for government workers and businesses

Next Workshops:

Alice Springs - 21/22 February 2012

Tennant Creek – 28/29 February 2012
