Tools and Resources to Prevent Child Abuse & Neglect
In addition to NAPCAN’s Mandatory Reporting training sessions, they are now launching another new exciting training program - “Tools and Resources to Prevent Child Abuse & Neglect: Engaging Vulnerable Kids and Families.” Initial sessions will be held in Darwin (Thursday 8 March) and Nhulunbuy (Tuesday 29 May) with a view to expanding the program to Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Katherine in the second half of 2012 depending on the level of expressed interest.
Workshops are FREE and run for two hours.
This training is ideal for staff working with children and families in Family Support, Youth Services, Crisis Accommodation, Family Violence or Early Childhood Services.
Participants will learn about key tools and resources to work with children and families including:
• Local, national and international tools to engage and support vulnerable families
• Key Child Abuse Prevention Strategies
• Brief overview of Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect – rights and responsibilities
• Overview of additional Training available through NAPCAN
