Youth Development Unit Manager - Job Vacancy in Tennant Creek
Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation (JCAC) has an opportunity for an enthusiastic Youth Development Unit Manager to join the dedicated Tennant Creek team. Reporting to the Director Community Safety, the successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing all Youth Programs offered by JCAC, from their design and development, through to their delivery and review stages. Current projects include:
- Stock & Station Training program;
- Working with police & support of youths who are referred to Juvenile Justice;
- Liaising with schools on issues such as bullying, drugs, alcohol, stealing and conflict resolution;
- Managing two safe houses, one for females and one for males; and
- Management of the Youth Drop-In Centre.
This is an exciting time to be taking on this leadership role, as JCAC has recently received $3.75m funding to build two hostels in Tennant Creek that will enhance the outcomes of the young people of the region.
There is a huge amount of variety in this role as you use your understanding of the issues and challenges facing young Aboriginal people to make a positive difference in the local community.
